Hope this finds all you “Ticowinders” in good health and spirits. The clock turns, the grains run through the hourglass and the weeks run by like Fernando Torres going through Chelski’s defense. For those that like it short and sweet, it’s time to get ready for this winter’s trip. Continuing the trend from last year we will be opening for Thanksgiving, 27 November, and offering a great early season special in collaboration with Mystica. One piece of good news on the financial side, the US$ has recovered against the Colon and is back around the 520 mark so your local buying power will be better than last year.

We’ve already got the new gear ordered, all the boards over 65L will be 2009 models and all sails bigger than 3.3m² also. We’ll still offer a mixture of skinny and standard masts and of course carbon booms. We know this is important to you all so it has to be where %90 of our investment goes. Yes we would love to pave the road in but we feel you would all swap a few bumps or use the “Polish Method” (everyone out except the driver) on the hill in order to have the right gear on a 3.5m² day. It’s a moot point anyway as ICE have already told us that this will never happen

With regard to other launch site “improvements” we will have more hammocks and swinging chairs next year, just need a few more trees to put them on. Any of the Bay Area boys want to volunteer to bring down a couple of Redwoods?! Plans for changing room and lockers are started.

With regards to accommodations Helena’s House now boasts a third bedroom, take note Jeff and Leslie, pics to be posted shortly on the webpage. Barbara and Francesco have also been hard at it adding a “Jungle Room”. The Jungle room is a tree house built situated in the trees (amazing huh?) close to the Yoga platform so plenty of privacy and a great view down the lake, perfect for honeymooners or Manchester Bob (nice clip in You Tube Bob!!).
The lake level is coming back nicely so we are hoping the walk down will be a little shorter than last year while still leaving us a nice kite teaching area up wind of the main launch area. While on the subject of kiting we have sorted out our bureaucratic issues with IKO and will be issuing IKO cards to all our students right from the start of the season. We had a great 2 months of teaching in March and April with “Mosquito” and Vanessa, our friends from Brazil, and are hoping they will be able to come back next season again.
